Under the direction of the Manager of Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will work closely with the hiring managers in their perspective area to understand specific position requirements and the dynamics of labor markets for a given position/location. This individual will execute full-cycle recruiting initiatives for their assigned positions and will employ sourcing strategies and resources to create talent pipelines and generate candidates for their open positions. This individual will work with the talent acquisition team to develop new and creative recruiting strategies and will conduct regular follow-ups with hiring managers to determine the effectiveness of our recruiting plans.
This individual will work a hybrid schedule going into our downtown Chicago office 3 days a week.
The role
Key job responsibilities
- Executes the strategic recruitment plan and process
- Identifies qualified candidates for interviews for identified job vacancy via phone interviews, manages the scheduling of onsite interviews, interview follow up with both the hiring manager and candidate and manages candidate dispositioning
- Assists candidates through the duration of the recruiting process
- Develops talent pipelines for key positions
- Research, recommend, initiate, and manage new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting
- Performs searches for qualified candidates using computer databases, networking, Internet recruiting resources, cold calls, media, recruiting firms, and employee referrals
- Post openings on professional job boards and internet sites, newspapers, professional organizations, and in other position-appropriate venues
- Ensures compliance with legal and Affirmative Action obligations in recruiting and selection by staying current on regulations and assisting with training and coaching of hiring managers
- Connect with and manage industry contacts and associations, trade groups, community programs, veteran groups, colleges and universities as well as other sources for skilled candidates
- Participate in and assist in the organization of the company’s participation in job fairs
- Maintain regular contact with identified, high potential future candidates
- Functions positively as a member of the Human Resources team and maintains cooperative working relationship with all staff members

The person
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Psychology, Business or related field required
- Previous industry recruiting experience required
- Proven in-house recruitment experience preferred
- Experience screening and evaluating candidates through various methods (phone interviewing, writing assessments etc) required
- Hands-on experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and resume databases required; experience with SuccessFactors is a plus
- Experience in the use of Excel and Word required
- Experience with Office Suite required
- Great organizational skills and communication skills are required
- Ability to work in our Chicago and East Chicago office at least 2-3 days a week is required
