Job Summary
The Endoscopy Nurse provides care in the ambulat! ory setting directed toward meeting both the psychosocial and physical needs of the patient. The RN works in a collaborative and cooperative relationship with other members of the health care team, plans and implements patient and family education and is responsible for assessing the needs and initiating appropriate intervention for patients, according to Nursing and Endoscopy Department philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures. Call required rotating weekends, weekdays and holidays. Must be available within 30 minutes when on call.
Essential Job Functions
Assesses and monitors patients before, during and after procedures
b. Coordinates care with patients, physicians, nursing staff, and caregivers
c. Provides education before, during and after procedure
d. Provides accurate documentation of patient record
e. Accurate entry of charges for procedure
f. Maintains efficient workflow of department
Participates in other activities and duties as ! assigned, such as participating in department specific
qua! lity improvement projects, chart audits, department specific competency validation
b. Participates with inventory management
c. Participates in cleaning and maintenance of equipment
d. Participates on hospital nursing teams
e. Other duties as assigned
