With the 2014 opening of our new, larger VA Outpatient Clinic in Billings, MT, we have one full-time permanent position for a qualified Dentist.

Physical standards DUTIES:
This position is primarily clinical in nature. Patients are scheduled during normal duty hours and almost all clinical effort is used for the treatment of outpatients that come from the eastern side of Montana. The staff denti! st practices within the scope of clinical privileges granted to a gener! al dentist. These privileges include diagnostic and therapeutic modalities for the management of oral disease according to policies and procedures of the dental service, hospital and JACHO. General dentist needs to be proficient and productive in all phases of general dentistry, including: restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, periodontal and oral surgical aspects of care. Incumbent will require excellent diagnostic skills and the ability to triage, diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of oral/dental diseases and disabilities in a patient population with a high percentage of medically compromised individuals.
Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Physical standards - All applicants must meet the physical standards for the position. A physical examination prior to employment is required.
Licensure and Registration - Dentists (Except Residents). Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States (i.e. Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia. The dentist must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current licensure. The facility Director may waive this licensure requirement if the dentist is to serve in a country other than the United States and the dentist has licensure in that country.
Educ! ational requirements - Degree of doctor of dental surgery or dental med! icine resulting from a course of education in dentistry. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are: (1) United States and Canadian schools of dentistry listed by the Council on Dental Education, American Dental Association, in the list published for the year in which the course of study was completed. (2) Schools (including foreign schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia as qualifying for full and unrestricted licensure provided the licensure requirements include a written examination measuring science achievement and a performance examination measuring clinical competence.

Applicant's education and experience will be re! viewed by a Professional Standards Board and Compensation Panel (for physicians and dentists) in determining the grade and salary of the applicant selected. The recommended salary may be at any point in the range listed for this vacancy.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Light lifting (under 15 lbs), light carrying (under 15 lbs), use of fingers, far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and 20/40 in the other, hearing (aid permitted), emotional stability, mental stability, working closely with others, working alone, and working with biohazardous materials.
