Fort Harrison (Helena) is a 48-bed acute care, medical-surgical facility that offers a broad range of acute, chronic, and specialized inpatient and outpatient services for both male and female veterans. Specialty care includes internal medicine, gerontology, neurology, dermatology, cardiology, palliative care, pain management, medical oncology, surgery (general, vascular, laparoscopic, endoscopic), urology, orthopedics, plastic, ophthalmology, ENT, podiatry, gynecology, chiropractic care, psychiatry (including outpatient substance abuse treatment and PTSD and MST specific care), and ambulatory care (primary care). Radiology Service provides a broad range of diagnostic and interventional care provided on a full time basis. Pathology Services are available on site also prov! ided on a full time basis. Telemedicine services are available! for psychiatry, radiology, gynecology, primary care, ophthalmology and tele-home health. The 24-bed inpatient mental health facility serves patients needing treatment for PTSD, Substance Abuse and Acute Care.

A 30-bed Community Living Center (CLC) that provides general and ventilator dependent care is located in Miles City. Primary care is provided at Anaconda, Billings, Bozeman, Cutbank, Glasgow, Glendive, Great Falls, Havre, Kalispell, Lewistown, Miles City, and Missoula. Primary Care Telehealth Outreach Clinics are located in Hamilton and Plentywood. Staff and contract specialists visit the clinics regularly and provide access to specialty care as needed.

The RN Care Manager is a foundational role within the VHA PACT model. Patient care is delivered in a team based model known as a teamlet. Members of the teamlet include the Primary Care Provider, RN Care Manager, LPN, MSA, and the Veteran. The RN Care Manager assists the other members of the teamlet in providing the majority of the healthcare needs for an assigned panel of Veterans. The RN works collaboratively with other members of an expanded health care primary care team including p! harmacists, social workers, dieticians, behavioral health staff, tele-health staff, and others to provide an interdisciplinary approach to care. The RN interfaces and collaborates with larger health care organization providers including VA and non-VA specialists, hospitals, diagnostic and treating facilities, and community based programs. The RN uses the nursing process and evidence-based practice to collaborate with the teamlet and those involved in providing care to the Veteran in developing the patient -driven holistic care plan. The RN provides patient and family health education with a focus on self-management, prevention, and wellness, based on the VeteranÂ's goals. The RN demonstrates leadership by serving as an advocate for Veterans and team players. The RN continues to enhance professional growth, development, and practice for self and the other members of the team. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
U.S. citizenship. Non-citizens may ! be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in a! ccordance with VA Policy.

Full unrestricted Licensure, Certification, or Registration required

Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along w! ith a copy of the MSN transcript. (Reference VA Handbook 5005, Appendix G6)

Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: BSN Preferred. Experience in specialty clinics such as neurology, orthopedic, or cardiac preferred.

GRADE DETERMINATIONS:
Experience as a RN will be evaluated to determine if the experience is of an acceptable level of quality with regard to the following four dimensions of nursing: Practice, Professional Development, Collaboration and Scientific Inquiry. Each dimension of practice has criteria that demonstrate essential core competencies for VHA Nursing Personnel.

The criteria are as follows:
Practice: practice, ethics and resource utilization;

Professional Development: performance, edu! cation/career development;

Collaboration; collaboration, colle! giality;

Scientific Inquiry: quality of care, research.
